Sekretari Amerikan i Shtetit, Antony Blinken njoftoi se ish-kryeministri Sali Berisha, bashkëshortja e tij Liri Berisha, si dhe djali dhe vajza, Shkëlzen e Argita Berisha, nuk do të lejohen më të futen në SHBA.

Blinken thotë mesazhin e tij, se në cilësinë si Kryeministër i Shqipërisë , Berisha ka qenë i përfshirë në veprime korruptive, të tilla si shpërdorim i fondeve publike dhe ndërhyrje në proceset publike, duke përfshirë përdorimin e pushtetit për përfitime personale dhe për të pasuruar aleatët politikë si dhe anëtarët e familjes. Por  kur ishte Keshilltari per Sigurine Kombetare, Antony Blinken gjate nje takimi me kryeministrin shqiptar Sali Berisha   me datë 6 shkurt 2009

Keshilltari per Sigurine Kombetare, Antony Blinken gjate nje takimi me kryeministrin shqiptar Sali Berisha deklaroi:

“Une vleresoj suksesin e qeverise se Shqiperise ne luften kunder krimit te organizuar, korrupsionit dhe reformat ekonomike te implementuara.”

Mr. Blinken evaluated positively Albania development and said he was enthusiastic about the results and successes the government of Albania has achieved. He appreciated Albania NATO membership process as a milestone in the basis of which is the standards the government of Albania has attained. He appreciated highly Albania alliance with the USA and considered our country one of the best friends. Likewise, Mr. Blinken praised the success of the government of Albania in fight against organized crime, corruption and the economic reforms implemented.

The National Security Adviser to Vice U.S. President Mr. Antony J. Blinken assured Premier Berisha that the new Obama administration will adopt the same attitude toward our country and the government of Albania will find in this administration a staunch ally.

He added that the bilateral relations will experience higher levels of cooperation and friendship.

During the meeting the two interlocutors also focused on the regional developments and its integration process as well as Kosova. Among other things, Mr. Blinken pointed to Durrs – Kuks Morin highway as a major work of modern Albania and very worthy of economic development of Albania, Kosova, but even of the whole region./ Klodian Tomorri
